Ian Rutherford Photography & image Rental got started a few years back when I was sitting in the doctor’s office. I looked at the wall and stared at the same pictures that I stared at the last time I was there. I thought if only there was something new to look at, and the idea was born. I have a lot of pictures that would be appropriate for the walls of offices and such.
The pictures that are on this website are from wanderings around the greater Vancouver area and various trips I have taken.
For those wanting to know,
Most of the images are high dynamic range (HDR), multiple shots merged through a piece of software where one final image comes out the other end. (an abbreviated version) The images that I take are of nothing in particular just things that I think will look good in a frame or on my website.
Some of the images will appear in both B+W and colour because I couldn't make my mind up of which one I liked so I put up both. Other images are long exposure, just because I like the look of them. You could say I have a varied collection of images.
Why did I put my images under a Creative Commons Licences?
I don't think you can stop someone from downloading or copying your images if they really want to. So why not just give them a license for personal use and ask them to link back to my website and give me credit for the work that I have done. Hopefully someone else will see the pictures that that person has on their facebook page click on the link they put up and contact me for an image rental or license.
